SPECIES: Human / Shapeshifter (can adapt)

So Hyukjae's made some bad decisions before. Like the time when he 'accidentally' shifted into a mouse to follow the pretty girl next door, and almost got hit by a bike. Or that other time when he slipped into the pond as a fish to avoid his angry mother, and was promptly displaced by their cat. But the most memorable moment by far would be the day that he tripped over his own heels, into a boy - a boy whom he ended up running away from town with three weeks later.
Suffice to say, by the time his parents caught up with him they were more than a bit disappointed. Hyukjae's family have held a mild prominence in shapeshifter society for a little over a few generations, known for their industrious work attitudes and modest gentility. So while not angry (nor surprised, actually), Hyukjae's parents eventually decided that he needed a little more direction in life, to properly appreciate the values they had been trying to instil in him since birth.

Hyukjae is a bit too much to be considered someone graceful, but all his actions are executed with good intentions, and it usually shows. He is constantly ready to joke around, pull a prank, provide a laugh even if it means embarrassing himself, and just enjoy life in general -- he thinks it's better to take it a day at a time. For first impressions he tries reasonably hard to rein anything funny in and come across as the polite gentleman he's been brought up to be, but this usually doesn't work very well with his extremely easygoing nature, and ends
On the flipside, when it's not all sunshine and rainbows, it's tripping into a ditch. Though infrequent, he can get into moods easily with enough provocation, usually from friends. When in a more serious or sombre mood, Hyukjae tends to want to sit and listen to others talk about their life and problems, or better yet wrap himself up in bed with a good friend to hug, and for silent company.
Like most with such an easygoing nature, he is still extremely attentive (or tries to be, and this mostly works except when he's being particularly dense) to serious moments and treats them with the weight of solemnity which is due. But at heart he is still an optimist, and ultimately whatever the occasion is, he will try to remedy the atmosphere.
Hyukjae pays frequent (read: all too much) attention to his dancing. He sometimes introduces himself as 'Eunhyuk', meaning 'silver', from a nickname he was once bequeathed by a fellow dancer. Most of his spare time is either devoted to this, sleeping, or food (his other main vice). He is especially fond of dance battles, and takes wins and losses with as good sportsmanship as he can manage.
In his personal philosophy, you can't go wrong if you just try. However, he also tends to be a little cynical of relationships, despite the open idealising and fantasising he will sometimes proclaim of the perfect partner. This is mostly due to the fact that he has never really experienced one before and thus remains a little grounded by that fact so that he doesn't anticipate more than it turns out to be. He doesn't handle personal disappointments as easily as he likes and prefers to gloss over details when questioned.
History-wise Hyukjae is very underdeveloped due to the fact that since he is a RL persona, I am required to make up the character's background by myself. It wasn't given much thought in the community chojayeon, which only required a short explanation of the events leading up to his enrollment at the school. Thus this may need to be expanded upon for future applications, but the bones of it should be there.
His personality has shaped up nicely from the original application and he is now substantially more developed after his initial run. I am tempted to conduct a reset because to me he's verging a little on the OOC, but I may just leave it to chance to see where he goes, since for all intents and purposes he is an OC without the face. Without a canon with which to guide me (celebrities' public displays are probably rarely their true personalities) there is a lot more room for leeway in terms of his characterisation, as long as I don't jump extremes too much.
Overall I play him quite comfortably and I have no objections to how I do.
